Here are the parts you need to build an outdoor bench with pallets :
1 - SANDING AND CLEANING PALLETS
Sand the pallets over their entire surface using a coarse grain to remove any roughness with sandpaper
2 - CREATION OF THE SEAT
Place and fix one pallet on the other with the ROCKET wood screw and partial thread chipboard star recess 6x160 / 70.
3 - CONSTRUCTION OF THE BACK
Place a third full pallet behind the seat you have just created. The slats will be positioned on the side of the seat.
4 - CONSTRUCTION OF ARMRESTS
With the rest of the pallets, keep the sides where there are the 3 runners and the cross member. Cut them to have the same width as your seat.
5 - FINISHES
Treat the wood of your pallet if you want to keep your bench over time.

How to choose the length of a screw?
To begin with, you should know that a countersunk screw is measured over its entire length because its head enters the wood. The head will stay on the outside for the other screws.
For your fixing work, the minimum length of the screw must be equal to three times the dimension of the object to be fixed. 2/3 of the thread goes into the fixed part and 1/3 into the part to be fixed.
In all cases, it is recommended to check the breaking torque of the screw in order to verify that it is suitable for your project.
Sometimes it is necessary to pre-drill hardwoods to work quickly and effortlessly.
A high-tech solution for your outdoor projects
Outdoor wooden structures such as patios, cladding and fences require the use of treated or tropical wood in order to cope with bad weather or other vagaries.
You also have to pay particular attention when putting these sorts of structures together. At ROCKET we have developed a range of stainless steel screws, available in pozidriv and star head, which retain their levels of performance and design when used outdoors.
